Types of Testing in Magento 1 & 2:
The functional testing is applied to test the Magento platform from the end user’s perspective (black-box testing approach), it does so by imitating the customer’s behaviour. To make functional testing much easier, Magento has released the functional testing framework known as MFT (Magento Functional Testing) and recently, MFTF (Magento Functional Testing Framework).
The MFT (Magento Functional Testing) is the earliest open-source cross-browser solution assisted to run nearly 170 functional testings such as the basic acceptance testing, smoke testing, regression testing, etc via automation whereas the Magento Functional Testing Framework (MFTF) is a recent one which superseded the MFT and written using the XML to facilitate the testers in writing test cases with much ease.
The load testing is performed to examine the reliability and stability of a software/application. Hence, it forms crucial to load test an e-commerce platform like Magento before the release (or launch) of the product.
To reduce the regression testing time, automated regression testing must be adopted. This test helps to assess the application’s stability and high quality.
